Selection Criteria

• Early in your career marks are very important
• Later publication become most important.

The basic question each assessor asks is "Will this student make a good scientist?" Your job is to convince the assessor that you are worth spending money on.

• If your marks are low, take heart. Work on churning out the papers.
• If your marks are high, don't sit back. Work on churning out the papers. In a few years marks become unimportant.
